  • I can say I'm a business owner now.

I'm slowly working on being a real firearms dealer.

I got my LLC paperwork back from the state.
So now Trigger Time is a go.
Got my big boy business back acct open
Now time to go to the cops and get fingerprinted
    2 pictures
Then the 7 page form- one copy to the local cops
    Then the BATFE to visit.
    $200 fee
    Then $60 for state lic.

I still have to get the forms and books for tracking.

      Nice!! Congratulations!

I'm considering doing that myself. I'd like to have my biz started by the end of the year. "Side" business at first. I'm still thinking up names and logos, and I gotta get together the $300 or so it takes to form an LLC here in Texas.

I was lucky PA waved the $400+ in fees for all the paperwork for Veterans last year. I dropped my paperwork day after it took effect.

I took classes and stuff before I got out but I should get a refresher.
Hard part is learning how to properly do the accounting.

Maybe drop taxguykarl a PM. At the very least, he'd probably know of some general resources, reliable training books/sites to look at, etc.

              Welcome

Funny thing is I made $30 from the guy at the bank fixing a pistol for him that day. He was impressed I had it back together in about hour. He struggled with it for days. Hopefully it's a good sign for more work later.

It paid for the passport pics I need to send to the feds.

                Arrgh freaking state.
Send in the paperwork to reg my name TriggerTime LLC
I get it back you goofed can't have LLC just the name. Correct and send new app with old.
                OK
So I send it back minus the LLC.
Get a letter back- name taken by- ME as Trigger Time LLC.
WTF, SO I'm going to call them today ask WTF over.

                EDIT UPDATE
So yea I don't get the 1st letter the name was reg the 1st time. So why ask to resubmit? Screw it, it's mine, it's confirmed.

Good enough ^__^ Don't expect red tape to make sense, just roll with it.

ofc, you can always set it up as "Trigger Time, L.L.C., d/b/a Trigger Time"

So I get called by the ATF a few weeks ago for the interview. A agent visits the new place of business and double checks all permits, goes over laws and regs, pass out info, answer all questions and lets you know who and how to address any future issues you might have and your responsibility's.

Of course he ask about zoneing because of being a home FFL. I checked on this 1st. They asked me a few questions and said I don't need one. No traffic, if 2 people come to the house I have plenty of driveway, no outside signage and no pollution.
OF course when the ATF calls to confirm- they say I do need one. CRAP.
At least the ATF guy said zone insp did remember telling me that but to CYA I needed need to get a permit.
Thankfully it was simple and free. So I got it Monday and my interview is Thurs.
                        Getting somewhat close.

Went great. Agents seemed impressed I had all my papers and quizzed me on my knowledge of laws and regs. Of course my background checked out. I should have the paper in about a week.
Now just $200 more in licenses and paperwork (that I don't have right now) and I already have orders waiting for me to get it finished.
