  • Should I bother applying again?

Somewhere in here I wrote about applying for a job in which I had achieved a 100% score on my spelling and grammar tests, and a good score on my typing. I was told I had done well on my interview. She did say that (they are a government agency) she needed to go through channels to determine whether she could get the necessary funding to add more people to their pool.

After that, nothing. I emailed once to ask if my resume had arrived and was told that yes, but as she had said, it was filed "for future consideration," which a few people here suggested was a brushoff.

That job was listed, IIRC, as a fulltime permanent position. You have to be in their on-call pool for quite some time to be considered for a FTP position with them, so I was not overly surprised that I didn't get it.

Now ... basically the same job is up again, except this time it's listed as "irregular on-call".

So I'm wondering, is it worth it to toss my hat into the ring again?

Can't hurt to call up and check that they still have your details on file, or if they'd like you to resubmit. Worst case is they say "no thanks."

If you apply, you might get the job, or you might not. If you don't apply, you definitely won't get the job. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Good points, guys. Especially since I dropped into the local job-seekers' office today to apply and ... I originally applied last summer. So yeah, they're hardly gonna call me up this far down the road and ask if I'm still interested.
