  • How far do I have to drive to overnight a package?

Here's a slightly weird thing I never thought I'd say: I had to run to Dollar General to drop off a FedEx package.

They're the closest FedEx drop-off site. The next nearest one is more than 15 miles away. I was pretty happy to learn there was a drop-off site in town. If I had to drive to the next closest drop-off site, I might as well just drive the package to the recipient, who is less than a mile from there.

We don't get regular pickups from FedEx, since we only need to send overnight packages about 3 times a year. And I couldn't find a way to have them pick up a one-time package. So I have to drive to a dollar store down the road to drop them off, which is still pretty convenient even if it feels weird.

Not a bad prospect. I am not afraid. In the meantime, let me close my eyes and sense the beauty around me. And take that breath under the dark sky full of stars. Breathe in. Breathe out. That's all."

Boss should've offered you $20 to drive the package to the recipient. It still would've been less than the cost of Fedex overnight.

In this case, the recipient sent us a prepaid label. But if they hadn't then, yes, it would have been cheaper and faster to drive it there.
