  • Hubby's job perks are better than mine

So Hubby's on his third week at his new job, which he loves. He loves the work (aircraft interior manufacturing), he loves his CW's, he (mostly) loves his supers...he's just in this happy blissful state.

He also gets some sweet job perks. He gets discounts at about a dozen different restaurants in town. A large portion of those are 15% off of everything on the menu. He gets discounts at auto repair places, tech support, salons, and boutiques. He gets some sweet discounts at gyms (for example, at the local Y, a couple is normally $600 a year but he can get it for just over $400...we have a really awesome Y so we plan on utilizing that discount), and there's even a realtor who'll give him discounts. That's right, he can get a discount on a house if he so chose to (and could afford it). He came home with almost a book of local businesses that give him discounts with his work badge!!!

Me, I get a discount at the restaurant next door and...yeah, that's it.

As a temp, he doesn't get medical or 401k or other such benefits, but I get those for through my job, so...yeah, he's in a good place right now. Oh, and he makes more money than me (His take-home pay for one week is almost the same as my take-home pay for two weeks! I have more withholding and stuff, but still!). I am envious. I'm proud of him, but I'm envious! (On the plus side, more money + discounts = more stuff he can buy me! )

That's awesome! How great is it to not only have a great job with tons of perks, but to love it too? I don't think that's ever happened to most people.

I'm in the same boat- I get a discount at the bookstore and the in-store cafe. That's it. Husband, who is technically employed by a well-known hospital, has great insurance and gets discounts freaking everywhere, from the aquarium to the real estate people who helped us get our house. I benefit from this too so I am not complaining!

Oh, I'm not complaining. I fully intend to use him kindly ask him to share some perks with me.

Well, okay, maybe I complained to Boss Man a little...
