  • Who's really at fault?

In the ER, the department to which I can work but do not. I normally deal with our regualr customes (we HAVE to call patients customers now..) They let 4 people off to go to the beach, so I have to work not only my M-F shift but in the fucking ER Sat, Sun.

My boss said this, "How dumb! They knew we're in a staffing crisis who would ask off in a time like this!? I can't believe they did that!"..

Neither can I but what retart gave them the days off......?

I think the team leader in the ER should have had to work through... don't you?

Is the team leader in ER the one who approved the time off for those 4 people?

If so, I say he/she should have to work.

I think whoever approved those days off when staff was urgently needed should have to cover for ALL the people they let take off.

You know I don't know which one of them approved it, they walk around with their heads up eachothers asses any way soo.. I thought that not having kids was a good idea this young but uh no... I get put in on the schedule, they don't even ask.

It's cool but between school and work 21 days in a row gets a bit hard.

What brainless idiot would allow that many to take the time off at once when they don't have anyone to cover for each of them?

Well, there's my now-departed horse's ass of a GM manager. He could never make a decent schedule to save his life.

He'd approve everybody's time off requests, even if they all were for the same days, find out he didn't have enough people to work, and then beg those people to work even though he'd approved their time off. Not surprisingly, they always turned him down. It's not their fault he didn't check to see if he had already given other people that day off.

So then the store would have to get by with insufficient coverage, or he'd have to call and beg people to come in on their days off, and again not surprisingly, people would decide not to come in or not even pick up the phone.

Uh, that's no good. Don't let them get away with that. Just because you don't have kids doesn't mean you don't have PLANS!! More likely that you do have plans, actually, since you actually can have a life.

If they don't even ask, they don't get. Stand firm. No asky? No getty.

If you don't feel like covering, don't. It's their problem, not yours. Just tell them you have plans you can't break. Doesn't matter if those plans are to veg out in front of the telly! They're still your plans.
