Just 25 minutes ago I was in one of the elevators here at [hospital site] heading up to the cafe. The door opened and the elevator lobby was in an uproar. A man had collapsed right in front of the elevator I was on, curled up in a fetal position. Several personnel from the ER were hunched around him while two more were standing by with a stretcher and two others were standing in the lobby doorway directing people to the other elevator banks.
The guy was in some sort of respiratory distress. The woman leading the response team was asking if he was still feeling short of breath and he said yes, and you could just tell from the way he sounded that it was bad.
I very carefully stepped around him and apologized to the people guarding the door for being in the way. They said it was ok since I obviously had know way to know this was happening.
I hope that guy is OK.
