  • OK, A New Chapter - Take 2

I know I posted here recently about a delivery job with a big delivery company.

To say the least, it fell thru.

They expected me to be ready to drive a box truck with minimal training, like about a half hour. No, that wasn't reasonable, or realistic. So that went the way of the Dodo bird.

I decided to apply at a locally owned small liquor store. I applied online. I had an interview at the location about a mile from where I live.

Sadly, they didn't have any openings for full time, however the manager there recommended me to one about 10 miles from where I live. I had an interview with the manager there, and she hired me on the spot. I stated the next day.

This is such a better fit for me. I'm working my ass off, and I love it. Today (as I write this) we had 2 enormous deliveries, and I was running like mad, walking like Fred Sanford at the end, and happy(search how Fred Sanford of Sanford and Son walked for a reference). My co workers like me. I'm happy, and actually making money working for a change. Heck, I've now got a line on getting beers from the hardest state to get beers from - West Virginia.

This is real. This doesn't seem real. I'm happy.

Sweeeet Congrats on landing something like that. Even better -- If the first manager referred you to shop #2, you must have impressed both (edit) her AND the one where you just started working!

      Well, both her, but, yeah.

The first one seemed like she wasn't happy she couldn't give me what I was looking for.

In all honesty, the store I work at is smaller, and a better fit both ways. Yes, it would have been nice to walk to work - well, not in Minnesota winter.

      I'm happy where I'm at.

Hmmmm. Did the hire the wolf to guard the sheep?

With your new contacts, are we going to get beer reviews again?

        Good luck!

My bad Oddly enough, I wasn't really awake when I posted that. Consider it edited.
