Like Lupo said in this thread here, I got my dream job today.
I'll be co-managing a rather major wine store in the Upper Hudson Valley. This nearly doubles my current pay, puts me in a beautiful small town, and advances my career by leaps and bounds. The owners have connections not just IN the wine business, but outside as well, in the food, art, and literary worlds. I'll be learning not just wine, but how a small business should be run, with all the details laid out and handled.
Tomorrow, the details get worked through and negotiated. Time to start looking for an apartment up there, and figuring out the move. Tonight, I squee, and toast Brooklyn. It's been a good city for me, but my life is moving forward.
