Oh, I do this often. If people need to get rid of coins, I tell them they can. But not for insane amounts like this guy. Plus i'm getting paid for counting it, so why not?

Funny though. I hope people read the fine print and realize its for certain items, at certain times.

I'm willing to bet ya good money though, that some SC's are going to use this as an excuse to buy large amounts of items with their pennies.

There is a limit 3 per customer on the penny items, which there are only about 3 or 4 that are a penny each. Every other penny deal is a "Buy one (or two, depending on item) get the 2nd(or 3rd) for .01c" Which is for stuff like pencils, pens, all the basics for back to school.

So to get the penny items, the people send their kids through, and such. Honestly, I don't care, since we have so much, that I am happy to be rid of it all. You have no idea the late nights I helped get stock unloaded and organized from the overload of school stuff we have gotten over the past 4 weeks.

But, penies are legal tender and you can pay for things with pennies technically.

I remeber going to put 10 bucks worth of petrol in my car on the way to a meeting. OK running late, but nealry comitted murder when the old dude in front of me filled up and paid $50 in coins out of a plastic bag. He's telling the cashier 'oh I've been saving these u[p for months and thought I would spend them now, ha ha ha'. Just my stupid luck.

Actually on the stuff that there is a limit on or that you have to buy something else to get the deal, it is clearly printed on the 'fly tag', which is the temporary price/ad sign.
