OK, for those of you who don't know or haven't guessed, Utah is one of the most bigoted and homophobic states in this nation... to the point where I refuse to call it a 'great' nation because it allows Utah to exist... anyway, back on topic.
On thursday my boyfriend and I went to the Gateway Mall... now this is supposed to be a heathen safe area, it is in secular downtown, including many restaurants that serve alcohol and stores such as hot topic and ambercrombie and fitch... not exactly the place you are expecting to be a bastion of conservative ideals... apparently though, it is.
While walking through there we had two people yell out things like "fuck you fags" or "burn in hell queers". Then there was one guy who just baffled me to no end. To paint a picture, he was wearing girls pants, very tight shirt, a feminine complexion that looked like it was achieved through the use of skin care products, a very feminine posture, and a hair style that would make Adam Lambert proud... he started getting on our case about how we just aren't normal...
Yes, we aren't normal, thus spoken by the guy wearing woman's clothing and using woman's body products. And he wouldn't shut up about it... he just kept going on and on about how we were against the natural order and how it was wrong that we wanted to change social values (yes, because ending bigotry is such a bad thing), and change laws (because it's such a terrible thing to change laws...
), and oh yeah, we're fat... yup, not only are we fags, but we're fat... I guess that makes us the worst people ever.
Oh yeah, have I mentioned recently how I can't wait for my boyfriend and I to move to a real city and away from the bottomless hatred and bigotry of Utardia?
