  • I made it right!

This made me really angry. But I couldn't do anything about it because hubbie doesn't like to make a fuss about anything.

We went to our favorite coffee place. It's a real treat to go. We wait all week (we're too lazy to get up early before work) until we're onto our weekend. Anyway, we go there so much they ask if we'd like the usual lol

We ordered our drinks, I tipped and we sat down. Both of us in great moods. One of the male workers places hubbie's drink down next to him. Immediately we noticed the color was off. We've been getting the same drinks for the last two years. They're THAT good.

Hubbie takes a drink and it looks like he sucked a lemon.

    Me: Is it that bad?

The guy worker comes over and this is where I think things got bad.

    H-hubbie
    SG: Sucky guy

H: Hey man. There's something off about the drink.... Is it really a heath bar frappe?

The SG wasn't nice at all. We had no attitude and never suggested that he made the wrong one or put wrong stuff.

SG gets mad and starts listing off the crap he put into the drink like we would know it was right because of that.

And then I see him mutter "idiots" under his breath. He got all When he realized I was able to lip read it. But that didn't change him from being an ass to us.

He then told the nice cashier about what he put in it and in that condescending tone that we're the idiots. The drink was in fact undrinkable cuz quite frankly it tasted like ass. We paid and tipped I think we deserved what we paid for.

H: It's okay... It just doesn't taste right. It's really strong...

SG: Well, I made it right!

The cashier could tell we were getting upset but hubbie never let his calm tone change.

Cashier: We could make another one...

H: No thank you... It's fine.

I would have made them make a new one but he said after tasting it and being treated like a moron he didn't want another one. He tossed it in the trash and we left.

I'm still angry. It put a kink in my day. Why did the SG have to be so mean? It's not like we accused him of anything. I'm sure hubbie worded it better.

Needless to say we didn't go back the next day like we normally would have. They're not cheap drinks either. It's like $4 per drink. Had I known I paid for ass, I wouldn't have tipped.

I'd call and talk to a manager. That's no excuse. And he made the drink wrong. If it tastes like ass and drives regular customers away management needs to know.

Do let them know, the ingredients may have gone bad.

I ordered a cup of hot tea at my local bagel shop, went to put milk in it, and got a thin trickle of slightly whitish clear liquid. I told the girl behind the counter, she opened the milk jug, looked inside and said there was milk in there, then tried pouring the milk from the open container into the tea. Still a thin trickle. I took a good look and noticed a) an unpleasant smell, b) the milk stayed still when you moved the pitcher and c) there was a noticeable crack across the top of the milk!

Fortunately, they had the good grace to be embarrassed about that, and dumped the bad milk out and gave me a new cup of tea (no milk this time).

What I'm saying is, sometimes even the people who work there don't always notice something isn't right until it is pointed out to them, and they can't fix the problem if they don't know that one exists. So yes, let the manager know that the drink wasn't made right and the barista was rude.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

*sigh* Anakah, I know your husband may mean well by not wanting to make a fuss, but remind him that if he ends up sick with food poisoning, he can drive himself to the ER.

In other words, make a fuss! If something tastes off, don't suck it up and drink it because the person serving you is acting like a jerk. Heck, the cashier clued in on the problem. I'd have asked for a refund and walked out, never to darken their door again.

Unless, of course, he likes suffering and throwing up for hours on end. Just my 2 cents, for what it's worth these days.

So, by using the Doctor's reasoning, bow ties, fezzes and bandanas are cool.

I would definitely say talk to the manager.

Not because the guy made the drink wrong but because he called you "idiots!" over being asked about it.

When you're upset with a customer you should at least wait until they leave to talk about it.

            Two things.

First, your husband was wrong. When the cashier offered to have the drink remade, he should have accepted that offer. There are any number of reasons why the first drink sucked. (I don't drink coffee, so I can't even guess as to most of the reasons.)

Secondly, I have a solution to the tipping problem. You go to the coffee shop, order your drinks, pay for them without tipping, and sit down to enjoy your beverages. When you are done, if you have enjoyed your experience and your drinks, THEN you put money in the tip jar. You tip after the fact, just as you would do at a restaurant. That way, if something sucks, you don't have the added aggravation of feeling like you got robbed by tipping for crap product or crap service.

            Make sense?

I originally thought the title meant you fixed the situation. I know, I know, I briefly forgot where I was.....
