  • The 5 words I never thought I'd hear.

    Well folks, it finally happened.

"How do I use this fork?" (Okay, I lied. It was six words.)

Mostly because she was holding up a spatula. Hardware store housewares area. They called me over from covering hardware to help someone with a ... fork.

    I'm um ... ...

... I'm going to go over there now. *points to no place in particular*
SC: "Are you new or something?"
Me: "Yes. Your planet is very backwards I hope you realize."

      I believe it.

I once had a full grown woman hold up a bag of new potatoes and ask 'What do I do with these?'

"Oh, those are potato seeds. You plant them in the ground, and they grow you more potato seeds."

        My anything hurts.

"And what better way to say 'I love you' than with the gift of a spatula?"

I can understand a newly-immigrant Asian having the same problems with European-style cutlery as I used to have with chopsticks.

.... but from context, I assume that wasn't the case.
                Seshat's self-help guide:
                1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
                2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
                3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
                4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

Hang on, I'll...go there too, and...help you with that.

When I worked in Homelines at Dillard's, we had a woman call one time asking how to operate a springform pan....that she had already filled and had in the oven.
