If you're reporting a bug, we really need a lot more details than "search craps out when I start typing."
Could you give a bit more information?
I'm not the most tech savvy, but I do know we have a lot of people behind the scenes who are really knowledgeable and can probably give you an answer very quickly, provided they have enough information.

I've had similar occurrences (not on CS) caused by:
(a) sticky mouse buttons
(b) Windows StickyKeys has been turned onI am not an a**hole. I am a hemorrhoid. I irritate a**holes!

Dont forget to shake out the keyboard, food particles can make keys stick /things go BOING.
And burn some sage next to it.

The search box disappearing is due to your iPod/iPhone operating system. I'm not sure why, but the software seems to have trouble recognizing the pull-down menus as text fields.Quoth Sarah Valentine View Post

For future reference, and for anyone else reading this: One of the first things you should mention when having issues is what kind of OS you're using. Especially when you're dealing with a smartphone or something unusual.

Well, I should have asked that initially myself as well. Out of the habit.
I'm sort of without 'net access at home due to the ISP - they're working on it.
