You know someone who actually "Hehe"s and "Haha"s when they laugh?
*raises hand* That would be me

Also, Ree's right. Beyond the patent ridiculousness of it, it's insulting as well.

Sidenote: Does this mean that Hostess will have to rename Ho-Hos?

a couple of years ago before the "new network" CW there was UPN and WB they had a show called Blue collar staring Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engval.

during the "Xmas" show one year, Larry did a PC version of the "Night Before Christmas" and said Street Walker instead of Ho HO HO. the whole skit was funny because of the way they had to subsitute all of the PC things in place of the normal story

Listen, if we can have cakes called King Dongs, then for frig's sake we can have 'em called Ho Ho's.

            I mean, for real.

                Warning: Little ranty.

I was a little dubious when I first read this, but seeing as I read the OP about 2 minutes before I read the above post noting the Snopes debunk, I didn't really have time to ponder it.

However, if the world ever got that PC (which, by the way, is a "politically incorrect" term to begin with, as most terms spawned by uber-PC-zealots are) I think I'd invest my life savings in the demise of anyone and everyone who supported the new "super-PC" way of life.

For the record, "politically correct" should be changed to "terminologically neutral" in any situation other than those dealing expressly with politics. But "TN" doesn't sound as flashy as "PC".
                BEHOLD:
Politically -> having to do with positions of power
Correct -> free from error, conforming to fact or truth
Terminologically -> having to do with language, especially choice of words
                Neutral -> inoffensive and unbiased

So, it's not even "politically correct" to call a British man "Afro-Caribbean" when perhaps he's descended from somewhere in South America, nor to call anyone "Caucasian" when they aren't descended from the Caucasus region of Eurasia, because to be "correct" the term cannot violate truth. However, if by "politically correct" you mean "correct as far as politics is concerned", calling them "black" or "white" is just as "correct" as the "PC" terms. However, as any of the aforementioned terms could conceivably offend someone (maybe someone is touchy about their origins or skin color), "Afro-Caribbean", "Caucasian", "black", and "white", are not "terminologically neutral".

Needless to say, I hate hate hate people who insist on being "politically correct".

I'm so glad that's fake. That was the most upsetting thing I'd ever heard.
I will not shove “it” up my backside. I do not know what “it” is, but in my many years on this earth I have figured out that that particular port hole is best reserved for emergency exit only. -GK

Well it is just a matter of time, before it does happen.

                    Not everything is offensive.

                      I love the Westaff FAQ.

Q: Are santas being told not to say ho ho ho?
                      A: No.

Q: Why are santas being told not to say ho ho ho?
                      A: They're not.

                      etc.

I remember the day this story broke, it was originally reported as Westaff told Santas that if kids are scared of you saying "Ho ho ho" try saying "Ha ha ha". As the day wore on it mutated into "Santas are banned from saying 'ho ho ho' for no apparent reason" then to the reason being because it's offensive to women.

There was also a guy who claimed he was fired from a Santa job for saying "ho ho ho", but in reality he was fired for trying to hit on kids' mothers.

                        Soon to be renamed Hestess.

...and in the restaurant business BTW - you might wanna call them by their correct name - Table Patron Assignation Specialist. 'HO'stess might get you that table by the restroom.
