Unfortunately, I have a few things in my cube that I won't be able to get away with hanging in my new cube...my old job is tucked way in the end of the warehouse, and it's just the 9 of us (assuming a full staff, which we don't have) but my new job is up in the main office area and there's more traffic up there.

The particular cartoon in question, which my new boss saw when I brought up some of my stuff (but haven't hung it up yet) was this one.

What with my clumsiness and claustrophobia, I'd go crazy in one of those cramped, cluttered excuses for a workstation. Yikes!

I liked the fancy ones, though. Can't think of many bosses that would let you do up your cubicle like a Zen garden or Casino...

I'm all inspired now. I'm thinking steampunk theme. I wonder where I can find some big brass looking gears or something? Maybe some pipes and gauges and stuff. Man, would I ever love to have the steampunk mod.

Right now, I have a bunch of plants, a tiny zen "sand garden" some toys (notably a rubber shark named Mister Featherstone) , a lava lamp, and a fountain. Kind of garden-y. Be nice if I had a window.

        Oh, man I found this

        While looking for this:

Oh, man. I'm gonna need a cigarette.

        And I don't smoke.

I mean, yeah, you spend all that time in the cube. I don't mind my cube, it's not oppressive. It's kind of homey. And there aren't any customers in it ever. But it would be very cool indeed to do a steampunk mod on the cube.
Maybe if I get some time after Christmas. I think IT would frown on me sexying up the computer like in the links, but I could do the rest of it all.

Wow! That's gorgeous! Can you imagine all the double-takes you'd get from having a keyboard and monitor that looked like that?! All you need to do is redo your chair to look like H. G. Wells' Time Machine and you're all set!

best I could find was this

not "steampunk" but "retro" nonetheless-and probably easier to modify into steampunk
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes
