Old clip from an old movie. Old couple is covinced that 25 dived by 5 is 14. Strangely enough the math almost works. Its hilarious.

You know, I'm stunned that I could almost follow some of that. Mostly made a vein in the back of my skull throb for the sheer force of concentration it took, but I can see the humor. I mean, I got the various punch lines.

Did they used to do division like that? I don't recognize the way he wrote it, with the curvy little lines on either side like that. I wouldn't have known that was a division problem if I'd seen it out of context.

I mean, I can't do long division the usual way, either, but at least I recognize it when I see it written out.

I've seen that before but it is still great.

That show had some great writing, I'd say some of the best of it's time, even some of the best ever.

This is from an old show, "The Beverly Hillbillies" and I think it ired in the 1950s? (Maybe into the early 60s?)

I'd love to see Ma and Pa take 25 beans and give 14 to each of five people though.
