  • Sept 10 - what's going to happen?

So, what do you think will happen?

A new supercollider is going online beneath France and Switzerland.

    Meh,

The science is way over my head so something exciting *could* happen but I wouldn't understand it.
A PSA, if I may, as well as another.

That would depend on two things:

                1) Are you a female

                and if yes,

                2) What are you wearing?

As for the collider, I think in the long run a lot will be learned from it but as Lord Lundar said "no one will be allowed to care".

The first answer is 'Hell No!'

I voted "What's going on" because while I do know what they are doing I don't understand why. If there's any risk at all it may cause problems, then why do it? Its not an essential experiment as far as I've heard.

NOTHING. Not now, not in 2012, not EVER.
The New Orleans Saints are your 2009 NFL champions.

                      Believe dat.

Gawd. I thought that story could have come from The Onion it sounded like something completely made up, I almost started laughing.

I dunno. Could do something bad, but it might lead to something good.

And why not do this? Maybe they will learn information they might come across unintentionally and I dunno, solve energy problems, cure cancer, whatever. Many things we use daily were the end result of experiments that intended to produce something else. Like WD-40. And plastic.

Don't be so afraid to take risks. You never know when it might change life as we know it, for the better.

The odds of something going wrong on an apocalypse level are about the same as me ingesting food through my ass and crapping out of my mouth.

Either we will learn a ton from it. Or not much will happen at all.

OR... You will have a really bad taste in your mouth.. and probably a sore butt

All kidding aside, I think it would be great with a small, controllable black hole.. No more atomic waste, garbage, sex offenders or Sucky Customers!!

I just hope they scream "Leeeeeeeeroy Jenkins!" before starting up the damn thing. Y'know, just in case.
