I'm surprised that a company with the size and reputation of Amazon would employ someone with such poor spelling and grammar skills to communicate with customers via the written word.
    I'm not.

Chances are this person does neither lives or works in a place where English is the native tongue.

Even if they were living in a country where English is the native language, the result could likely be the same.
Society in general has all but lost any and all concern about spelling and grammar.
Proofreading is a dead art to many. All that matters to the person composing the written word is that the reader, "knows what I mean" and can make out the basic idea of the letter. The writer has no interest in looking for or correcting any mistakes in their writing.

"So what if theirs a few typeos and mispellnigs. Look, I can't spell good. Its not my fault.Dont gimme carp about it. Your crazy if u think Im gonna take the time too read it before i send it out. I dont have time fore that. They knoe what Im saying."

There are twenty errors in the previous paragraph. It took all of the strength I could muster to allow myself to type it out. Others wouldn't have such a struggle. They would send that out it in a heartbeat, never think about it and never look back.
In fact, they probably couldn't even find all twenty errors.

      I can! </smartarse>

If this idiot worked where my Ma is a Headteacher I think she would have splattered him across the tarmac to the extent that you now require sand to tidy him up.
A PSA, if I may, as well as another.

I got the impression he bought from someone via their Amazon presence?

Agreed. It was one of the stores in the Amazon marketplace, so he wasn't communicating with someone from Amazon, he was communicating with someone from a store that is small enough to have difficulty maintaining an online presence without the Amazon system.

Still, the exchange amazes me. To be a teacher and not realize from the style of writing and the name that the person was most likely ESL is incredible. English is my native language, and I have taught grammar as a teacher's aide, and I'm constantly looking up grammar rules and spelling. I'm a non-native French speaker, and have less trouble with the grammar in that language than in English.
