  • Target ordered to pay woman $3.1 million

They accused her of passing fake $100 bills..and they were real. How come these things never happen to me?

Somebody at that Target store better lose their job, if they haven't already.

Oh dear, and here I was expecting to read of the SC gone mad after the Police were called on suspicion of counterfeit notes, and demanding Target "embarassed" her or something.

Heck. There are ways to deal with suspected counterfeit notes. That is not one of them.

If the $100 bill in question was older than the late 1980's it did not have the "newer" security features but still should have passed the "questionable" pen test and the design was VERY different from the last 2 redesigns (unchanged for many many years). if the clerk was reletively young they would not have really encountered an older bill. I got a lot of them at the gas station so I knew what the looked and felt like

having said that putting out a blanket e-mail without investigation is going waaay too far
I'm lost without a paddle and headed up SH*T creek.
