  • Gold Kit Prank

One bored guy, one Gold Kit buyer mailer from one of those annoying Gold Buying commercials, one can of Gold Spray Paint, and some random knick-knacks around the house.

    http://www.cockeyed.com/citizen/goldkit/gold_kit.shtml

Slight spoiler: He does get paid for it.

Did anyone read that letter they sent him? It said that small diamonds are worthless That place is a bigger rip off than those caveman-Inventor programs.

          Olive juice you too.

The consumerist did a thing on them.

            http://consumerist.com/5059452/how-t...f-by-cash4gold

Basically they sent him a check for 1/3 of the value and when he called them they offered him the real value.

            http://consumerist.com/5142831/cash4...-negative-post

And then offered him $3000 not to tell the world.

Cash4Gold and its other mail-in incarnations always seemed sketchy to me. I'm sure that any reasonably-sized city has at least one "walk-in" arena (pawnshop, gold dealers, etc) for that purpose.
