In Staples we always checked returns (especially electronics) - the CS rep would call one of us to check out the box - I've seen people try to return their old printer (jammed in the box), their old computer, completely wrong items, etc..

The hilarious part of this story was that the same box had been accepted as a return and PUT BACK IN STOCK at that Wal-Mart before that lady bought it.
