    What do you guys think about this article? I don't like how they refer to our types of jobs as survival jobs.I consider myself a professional,I'm a professional cashier. That is the only I've done since I started working.So I'm very very good at it.

    I think you're reading too much into it.

    The article is about the over-qualified in those types of jobs. For YOU it's not a "survival job". It's your job. It's what you do, and if you do it well, take pride in it.

    But there are many folk now with the recession problems who have specific degrees and qualifications but can't find work in their field. To take a job like yours at this time *for them* is a "survival job". It helps pay some of the bills while they look for a more field-related position.

    Basically, it's not talking about you when it calls it that.
