you know, They were cheering, but that had to be painful to watch that happen. A half million bricks that took days to assemble falling apart that easily just HAS to suck.

The reaction from this household at the moment of Lego destruction had to rival the loudest most disappointed sports fans that were ever in the building.

And here the entire time I thought "why didn't they glue it together?"

IIRC, most of the bricks were on loan from collectors. No, seriously.

            Try all of them.

As many as they could scrounge.

            in North America.

Besides, the myth dealt with the blocks simply being assembled, not glued.

I thought that.... but then they'd never get back the same ones they loaned -- you you just know anything the mythbusters get their hands on will be damaged beyond all repair

Well, most of them were borrowed from legoland, and I'm pretty sure any collectors who donated have watched the show so they knew what was coming.

Generally viewers who donate stuff to the show don't expect to get it back.

From reading a little it seems that the youtube video one used glue of some kind and the ball was also hollow. The youtube one actually has a little "bounce" to it as it rolls down the street.

That might be why it held together so much better.

Yeah, IIRC that's what was determined on the show.
