  • Gen Con 2012 Coverage...By Me!

I have gripping (ha) day-by-day coverage on my blog of my experience at Gen Con 2012. With pictures! Warning: I do tend to have a sailor mouth so if swearing offends you, you're better off not looking. Enjoy! (?)

I honestly wish I could write half that good. Then all the insane stories I have stuck in my head might have an outlet. I love the style and pace of these blogs, the pictures are perfectly placed imo. Also..I want an Owl now..ok not an Owl..a Drake..but same thing!
Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. I her Black Dragon (though good honestly), dark as night..fierce and strong.

Thanks Mytical! I kind of threw these posts together well after the fact so in reading them again I notice I missed some stuff, like doing a live Yellow Menace poscast Friday afternoon with my friends. But I like writing these up to hopefully encourage other people to go to Gen Con.

Edit: BTW here is the 'two guys kissing' song by Tom Smith:

My sister and her hubby go to GenCon every year. And every year she post pictures on her Facebook. I wanna go with them at some point. Too bad I can't afford it (or Dragon*Con).

I've been to both and the last time I went to Dragon*con, the crowds were just ridiculous (this was 4 years ago, I can imagine they are worse now) and the con is spread over 4 or 5 hotels now, so lots of trying to find things. My friends who have gone recently have recounted standing in line for panels for hours, just as bad as Comic-con.

Gen Con has around 40,000 attendees but is in one large convention center and a couple hotels, mostly attached, and the halls of the ICC are so large that I rarely ever felt crowded. I much prefer it at this point in my life.

I saw a Facebook post by a friend of mine that's been going to Dragon*Con for years... The hotel fubar'd her and her hubby's reservation. They've apparently been dealing with this bs for a couple months trying to get it sorted out. She is less then pleased. This is their 13th year going too. I think I might just stick with GenCon for now. Here's hoping I can go next year with Sis and Bro-in-law.
