  • Cannot tell if the Gamefly commercials are trying to encourage SCism and EWism or not

Either way, I hate those friggin' commercials. Here's an example of one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zB3u-GsmzU

There's another one that follows this same routine, but features an older lady who screams like a banshee and later grabs the employee's face to pull him down to eye-level with her, another 'let's cause damage to the store's property because we didn't get our way', and general being-an-annoying-jerk.

So, yeah, I don't know if they're actively *trying* to encourage this kinda behavior or merely showing how asshat-ish people can be.

They're telling me that gamestores rip you off so it's ok to act like a moronic jerk.

Kinda makes me want to call up gamefly, ask them the cost of the subscription and then scream like a banshee when they tell me.

Frankly, the argument that this encourages this kind of behavior is the same flawed argument as the violent content in the games they're buying encourages violent behavior.

It's a stupid commercial, to be sure. I don't find it funny, which I think its intention is, but I don't agree that it's encouraging this kind of behavior, which is for the record illegal behavior, not just sucky behavior.
Fiancee: We're going to need to do laundry. I'm out of clean pants.
Me: Sounds like a job for Gravekeeper!
      Fiancee: What?!
      Me: Nevermind.

Well, apparently there's a tire commercial that does.

This one. Longest, continuously-running commercial ever.

            I say BLEAH to that.

We have our own "inspirational" video:

The guy that founded that company is an Alumnus of my University. and that commercial is a classic. Although if they did it now they'd have to put a disclaimer at the bottom.
