I would congratulate Tesco in this, for standing up for their employees.
Just because she's elderly and "Yorkshire-bred" (what, is that supposed to be a euphemism for "rude and nasty"?) doesn't give her leave to treat others like dirt. She needs to put on her big-girl panties, take responsibility for her behaviour and make some changes.

Not sure about whether this is the case or not in the UK, but I suspect that she was using "Yorkshire-bred" to mean that she wasn't a chav/trailer trash/redneck and instead was a "proper" woman.

My aunt was actually involved in a hit and run from one of those scooters that old people drive. Old lady literally ran her over in the store and knocked her unconscious. She sped away and was never found. Aunt ended up being taken away in an ambulance!
