Of course, these guys were wrestlers and not singers, and it was a part of an angle (storyline), but it did receive airplay and was a hit with wrestling fans. The WTR were supposed to be the heels (villains) in a feud with rapper Master P and his No Limits Soldiers, but the crowd absolutely HATED Master P and loved it when the WTR rose up and echoed their sentiments.

EDIT #2: Oh, I didn't read the "alternative rock or metal" part of Jack's post... sorry about that. Although, Stuck Mojo's "Metal Is Dead" does rant against the cheesy rap/metal genre...
