    Holy Indictment, Batman!

    So our local sheriff's office is one of those that has a website, and on that website you can look up people's mugshots if they've been arrested, see who's been arrested recently, and even see who is and is not still in jail, among other things.

    Many business owners and managers check this site at the start of the day, just to see if any of their employees are in "the funny papers," as they're amusingly called, so they know who won't be making it into work that day...and perhaps why. Because they also list the charges against the people.

    I was looking at said website for a particular reason, unrelated to this thread, and I came across this one guy and the charges against him. Now you have to understand, most of the time you'll see anywhere from one to a dozen charges listed, and you just shake your head if they're especially egregious or stupid. But this one guy...wow. Why wow? Here was the list of charges against him:

    Now I'm no expert, but I'd wager a guess that this guy is having a bad day, and that it's not going to end anytime soon.

      Sadly that's not the worst I've seen. I was in the court office one day and saw the day's court appearances. One guy had a list three pages long and this was all in 8pt font. I lost count at 50 lines and I'm not sure how many total charges.

          Eh, most will be thrown out before a Grand Jury even gets to the case to do indictments, or they are misdemeanors that the GJ won't see (indictments are only handed down on felony charges). Cases like that suck though, you have to vote on each felony charge separately which can take time if someone wants to discuss/argue their point (majority rules though, it just means it's not a true bill if someone votes the opposite way).

              Calling this "the funny papers" reminds me of the weekly I worked for. Under one editor we had a section of the front page nicknamed "the quadrant of shame" in which we printed any high-profile convictions (usually major enough to include a photo or two).

                      Seems like that might be possible, though it sounds more like identity theft via computer for financial gain. At least it does to me after reading those charges. Assuming the abbreviations and codes mean what they seem to mean.

                        Part of the charges are he stole EMS and LEO equipment through some means. This can be if they were say a mayor or city purchaser who was tasked with obtaining it and used the money for other means. They also appear to have damaged computers at an amount over $5,000. Without having a name it's hard to say exactly (and I'm not asking for one) what exactly is going on. It is one impressive sheet though.

                        *edit* He was arrested for rental property fraud including internet advertising.
                        Investigators say property owners complained that homes were double-booked, and renters alleged that their deposits were not returned or that [redacted] ignored them. [redacted] has been charged with multiple felony offenses, including 19 counts of grand theft as well as several counts of computer crime to defraud, obtain property, misleading deceptive advertisements and fraud by impersonation.
