    Another old trooper has gone to Fiddlers' Green.

    1940: Enlisted in "C" troop, Texas 112th Cavalry
    1942: Deployed to New Caledonia.
    1943: Became an aviation cadet
    1944: Deployed to CBI with Army Air Corps, 10th Air Force, 7th Bomb Group, 436th Bomb Squadron. Copilot under 1LT Maurice "Teddy" Bair. Flew gas missions over "The Hump" to China, bombed in Burma, and Siam, flying 55 missions. Also flew 17 missions during the central Burma campaign with the 4th Combat Cargo.
    1945: Returned State side. Took a job with the FAA.
    1950: Married. Produced 6 kids. Went to work to relax.
    1979: Retired.

    So dismount, pull up a seat and have a drink with your friends, You earned it.

    Rest in Peace Dad.
    Life is too short to not eat popcorn.

    My grandpa worked for the FAA for many years as well. Retired, and was a Designated Airworthiness Representative for a while. I even got to go with him to check out home-built airplanes a few times...

        My sympathies [my Dad went from 13th Armored to regular 11bangbang [combat infantry] when he got his commission [mustanged it]] I am sure that he is in the green sharing a beer and a joke with your dad.
        EVE Online: 99% of the time you sit around waiting for something to happen, but that 1% of action is what hooks people like crack, you don't get interviewed by the BBC for a WoW raid.
