Three days ago, just as a major heat wave was about to strike, our central air froze up. I found this out when I noticed water dripping through the hallway light and into the floor. I had to remove the glass globe over the light (it was full to the rim) and then take the bulb out, which was also full of water.
It’s an LED bulb that looks like an incandescent bulb. Somehow, it became completely full of water. It looks like a snow globe, with just a tiny air bubble at the top.
So what the heck do I do with this thing now? My google-fu is failing me. These things should be recycled, but can I recycle a flooded bulb? Is it safe to throw out?
The manufacturer (Cree) is a commercial supplier that doesn’t even have consumer customer service.
