Personally, I find cleavage very helpful. In a crime-fighting sense.

Actually, I am a close-up magician, dealing mostly with cards and other "six inches in front of your face" type tricks. My routine is heavy with the comedy--frankly, the magic is a medium for my own brand of comedy, though I have been told I am not horrible at the actual magic part of it, either.
And yes, to be flown across the country just to make people laugh and mess with their brains was, as you said, really freakin' cool!

Quoth Cookiesaur View PostWe might end up seeing the Cirque show they have at Treasure Island instead because . . . well . . . it's at our hotel.
FWIW Treasure Island and the Mirage are right next to each other and might be connected by a bridge or something. You will find that a lot of the places on the Strip are connected to other places by bridges or walkways.Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. Study hard. Be evil.

There's a book in the library called Weird Las Vegas and Nevada, by Joe Oesterle an Tim Cridland. It mentions a fragmetn of the Berlin Wall in the men's room at Main Steet Station. And the book mentions ghosts, like the ghost of Red Foxx at his home on 5460 South Eastern Ave. (no tour for that). But most of the book is about things through out Nevada, so not a lot of Vegas. But you should pick it up or flip through it in the bookstore.Time! Time! Time is what turns kittens into cats.
Don't teach me a lesson; all I learn is that you are an asshole.

My mom and I stayed in LV last June for a few days (the Luxor) and I enjoyed Mystere at TI, but that's about it. I don't gamble; I fed $60 total into three slot machines, was up by $20 on one but wound up with squat. I had seen Carrot Top in college 15 years ago, no interest at all now. The rest of the shows and events did not interest me. Also (I know it's a desert) but the heat took away most of my desire to do anything outside of the hotel.
We went to the Grand Canyon for a day, and if you have time and have never been, *****highly***** recommended. Gorgeous. Sign up for the Desert View tour at the Yavapai Lodge.Testing

M&M World makes one very happy (well except for the prices) but is so awesomely full of EVERYTHING M&M!! Taking the Duece (bus) up and down the Strip is pretty cool, if you love to people watch then it is a great way to experience all types of people. NASCAR Cafe is pretty neat at the Sahara.

How did I miss this thread? O.o
I live in Vegas, so know ALL the free shows that you gotta see.
The Bellagio has the fountain show once ever 15 minutes after a certain time. Different shows and awesome. Great place to kill time. MGM has the lion habitat. Not sure what time they feed the kitties, but it's fun just to see the giant kitties. And of course, the Mirage Volcano show.
I haven't see the new TI show, since I have no interest in seeing sluts in improbable "pirate slut" gear shake their asses. I liked the original show with the battle.
At the M&M place, there is a free 3D movie on the top floor. That place is fun to browse through on its own.
At Caesar's Palace Forum Shops, there are 2 Moving Statue shows. The first is Bacchus and Co in the center area, near the Banana Republic. The other is near the FAO Schwartz and is the Fall of Atlantis. By far the more impressive show.
For clubbing, Cleopatra's Barge in Caesar's Palace is no cover, but has very expensive drinks and they keep it very hot. Or did when I went. I was also wearing a short-sleeved sweater top, so you might want to go lighter. Think Summer. I saw that. Cheesy cheesy cheesy. I took a video of it with my digicam, posted it on my FB page and commented "Cheesy, campy and over the top - Vegas in a nutshell!"Testing

That's why it's awesome!
Plus, flames and fountains.
If you want Shakespeare, go to the theater. It's a freaking robot show, just a few steps above the instrument-playing bears at pizza places."For the love of all that is holy and 4 things that aren’t but feel pretty good anyway" ~ Gravekeeper

Also, in the shops at the Venetian/Palazzo (they're connected), you might see this guy, assuming he's still around:
He's a human statue. He stands in one place and doesn't move a muscle. At first glance you wouldn't even be able to tell he's a human being, he's that good.Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. Study hard. Be evil.

I live in Vegas as well, so feel free to PM if you have any particular questions.
There are about 7 different Cirque shows on the strip now. The newest one is "Believe." It's based around Cris Angel's illusion/magic act.
Just about every casino has a night club that will take you forever or a huge tip to get in. one of my favorite places to party at is at the Carnival bar at Harrah's. It's outside and is only a $15 fee for guys. I believe ladies are free. i find the small lounges and bars with the house bands are far more enjoyable than the clubs.
MGM has the lions, Mirage has the Tigers, The Siren's at TI isn't all that great and if the wind is blowing, they won't do the show. as already stated, the Bellagio fountains are every 15 minutes til 11pm, the Volcano at the Mirage is every half hour, I believe, but won't run if the wind is blowing as well.
If you want to get out of Vegas, you can go out to Lake mead, Hoover Dam, or out to Red Rock Canyon. I go hiking out there a lot when the weather is nice. There are Warm Springs in the canyon.
About an hour outside of Vegas is a town called Pahrump. There you'll find the Chicken Ranch and Sheri's Ranch. Two of Nevada's legal brothels. They have a souvenir shop. Nothing like having the groom wake up the day of his wedding wearing one of their t-shirts. Makes for quite the conversation.
There are helicopter tours that will take you to the Grand Canyon if you want to do that.
There's quite a bit of stuff to waste your time with out here. I'm sure HFP and myself could probably help you all out.

I actually like just walking around the strip in the early evening. It's great for people watching.
But if you want an eye-opening experience, spend a day at the Blue Moon Resort.
