Hey everyone....
We took Shakira (our pit bull) to the vet Wednesday because her va-jay-jay was real swollen and she was leaking a bit. The vet examined her and said she needed surgery. It turns out she has a vaginal tumor. The vet said that she wouldn't be able to remove the who thing, just a piece.
So we took Shakira in for surgery yesterday morning and we picked her up this evening.
The vet said that they would have the piece of tumor biopsied (sp?) and we should have the results in a few days. I'm praying that it's benign and that she'll be okay. If it turns out to be cancerous, my husband and I are gonna have to make some tough decisions. We have a silent agreement that we won't even bring up the subject until the results are in. It's just too hard to think about.
She's only about 7 years old and the sweetest thing in the world. Yesterday was the first night she slept away from home.
So, thanks for letting me get this out.
