NOOOOOO!! Head for nearest video rental store immediately!!!! And get popcorn. Or turn on some Spongebob!! Anything but Showgirls!! Oh the humanity!

Okay, I'm done with my sad attempt at the dramatic.

It was better than Elizabeth Berkley's acting.

I switched to the last 15 minutes of Notting Hill, and then Law & Order.

Pity I didn't see this thread sooner. I would've suggested a midnight showing of Watchmen. Bit late for that now, though.

          That would require going out.

True, but it's worth going out to see!

Watching "Showgirls" is bad enough. But watching "Showgirls" EDITED? Seriously, if you can't see the nudity, what is the bleedin' point?

Sound like what my hubby would say. But then again he would get all "offended" that they show such things in unedited. I don't believe for one second he's offended.

Then I am unlike your husband. I am upfront about liking naked women. I don't pretend to be offended by things I am not offended by, and nudity does not offend me. Hell, I DJ'd at a clothing optional bar for a year. How offended could I be?

I am, however, offended by bad editing, and frankly, the idea of an edited Showgirls is like the idea of an edited Scarface--whatever you think of either movie, editing it for non-cable television takes out all the good parts. I watch Scarface for violence and cursing and Showgirls for tits. Is there anything in Showgirls worth watching besides tits? Other than to laugh at how bad the acting/scriptwriting/entire movie is?

                    Kyle Maclachlan's nekkid butt.

And to laugh at how bad the writing/acting/directing is.

They apparently didn't edit out the scenes. They digitally added a black strapless bra. (I really only watched about 10 minutes, and frankly I've never seen the whole movie, so I couldn't tell you how much they actually cut.)

Not that I particularly care about the tits part, mind you. I have some of my own...I can look at them whenever I want...

Just as bad. Well, at least they didn't add the fuzzy screen over them. That is just distracting. Still lame, though.

Heh. It was funny, though...I haven't seen the whole movie but I had seen this particular scene, and the black just looked odd...took me a second then I realized, I don't think she was actually wearing that...
