cat + valuable plant = guess what?

My long-awaited shipment of carnivorous plants arrived today. I hadn't even finished unpacking them when I left one out of my line of sight for less than thirty seconds... and one of my cats ate it!

It was a pitcher plant, so it didn't do her any harm, and she didn't eat the roots, so it will grow back, but I was pretty ticked off at her! Darn cats! She tried to eat a sundew too, but I caught her at that and shooed her away.

Carnivorous plants? Guess the cat's lucky they didn't eat her!

He he he. I think the biggest thing a carnivorous plant has ever eaten was a rat. My cat is probably safe. Although the idea of a plant that can eat a mammal is pretty scary. I have one of that type and everything! Though mine is not going to get that big.

My boyfriend is on a trip and he took the camera with him. I'll have some of the whole lot later, but the only photo I have right now is my purpurea, that I got a couple of weeks ago.

Oh that is the coolest thing EVER. I love carnivorous plants. Unfortunately I have a black thumb (the only living houseplant around here is the Christmas cactus, and I'm fairly sure those can only be killed with fire) so no coolio little munchy plants for me
