  • This Just Feels...Wrong

I went on CNN and watched a short newscast on the Iran riots, specifically the cell phone video showing a young woman apparently dying after being shot by police. It's quite disturbing.

But before I could watch the newscast, I was subjected to an ad...30 seconds of an animated bear rubbing its ass with Charmin toilet paper.

I know how you feel, those shitting bears always came off as weird.

At least they're doing it in the woods.

They are, aren't they? They're still crapping in the woods? Tell me it's true...

Yes, Raps, they do. But they have rolls of Charmin stuck on tree branches, just like TP holders in a human bathroom.

I always thought those commercials were weird...I now use Quilted Northern.

I'm always kind of disturbed by bizarre juxtoposition of silly ads for trivial thing alongside serious, gut-wrenching news.

Like, as you mentioned, a cartoon bear rubbing it's ass with tp with a young woman being murdered in the street.

Or, in what's the most poorly placed ad I've ever seen, a web banner of an anorexic ass being shoved in my face with the line "trying to lose those last 10 pounds" right next to a headline that featured a half-starved Indian tsunami survivor screaming in anguish over her dead family.

          Nice placement, there.
