  • Tiny and adorable!

No, it's not a kitten. It's my newest plant! This was my birthday present to me.

It's a miniature orchid. I'm really happy about it! For one thing I can find space for it on my windowsill, it's getting a little crowded there. I can't wait to see it bloom! Though it probably won't be doing so any time soon.

PS. Just for fun, here's a picture of said windowsill. http://www.sparkcostumes.com/gallery...s/P1030368.jpg

I shall endeavor to do so. Not sure when that's going to happen though. It hasn't got any buds right now (the little thing on top is a baby plant, as far as I can tell, which is neat and weird.)

Getting a little crowded there Spark?! I'm jealous, I love plants, but I can't grow indoor plants for anything.

Actually, I'm not having much luck with my outdoor herb garden this year either. It was doing great, then I think I started to over-water them. So I stopped watering. I've got to find that happy medium!

I've heard you should let it dry out until the soil is dry about a half inch down, then add 1/2 cup water (for a small pot the size I'd think most people would use for herbs.)

All depends on what you're growing. It'll probably be a month or two before I give any water at all to some of my currently bone-dry succulents.

I bought some new ones today! I'm trying to see if I can figure out how not to kill fenestraria, I've killed three of them now and it's really annoying, given they're not supposed to be any harder than lithops.

you'll be waiting a while I'd suspect-some species won't bloom until they are 4-9 years old
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

It already bloomed before I got it. This is a fully mature plant, four or five years old at least. Just little.
