Update

I received an email from my RD. There was no meeting to be had. She told me that I need to take the trash that I put in the recycling room out or I would be fined $15. She never let me speak, so I sent her an email, explaining that I was not the one who did this and that the reason my envelopes were even mixed in was because they were put where they should be, in the paper bin.

Hopefully, I get a response back.

One day while heading to class, I saw the cleaning lady take the recycling bag....and dump in into the trash bag

That's what they do here. They'll have separate bins for recyclables, but in the end, it's all mixed together for the garbage trucks.
