  • Happy Anniversary, Galileo!

400 years ago, on the night of January 7th, Galileo pointed his telescope at Jupiter, and saw the four largest moons. It was the first time anyone had ever seen such a thing.

    Congratulations Galileo!

In his honor, I will be stargazing with my Galileoscope tonight!

The Galilean moons are awesome....I've actually seen 'em with just my eyes.

I raise my glass to you, Galileo!

When I was studying astronomy in college, we went to AZ to use a telescope at Lowell.

THe sky was so clear and we were up at 7000' elevation, we saw so many stars.....lovely

Fun note about one of those trips.....my prof was taught by Clyde Tombaugh....we got a cool picture of the prof with Clyde's telescope.
