My MIL is in debt because she started out great with her online courses... then stopped doing anything when the Business Law hit because she got annoyed at people.

One thing you can do to add words to a reply, is if you basically agree with what someone say, reiterated what they said in your agreement. Also, If you can, at all, add something, even if it is a random fact or a quote from the text (see bolded bit below).

For example:

Bob: I think kittens are cute. They are warm and fuzzy and they purr when you cuddle them, which is just so rewarding. They run and jump and get tangled up in string. They'll chase a ball of light, a bug, or a dust bunny! When they sleep, they curl into little balls of furry cuteness.

You: I agree completely, Bob. Kittens are just absolutely adorable. They do such funny things when they are playing! I love how soft and warm they are and how they purr when you hold them. Did you know that purring in cats is very similar to growling in lions and tigers?

Business may not be your thing. You just have to find something you really like doing and talented at and just make a career out of it. Sometimes it takes awhile to find that out. But that's only because we don't have our own personal user manuals about ourselves to turn to.
