  • RIP Alex

She got put to sleep 2 hours ago, least she's not suffering anymore.

Don't know how i'm going to explain to the kids in the morning when they ask where she is.

Her sister is pineing for her, bloody horrible.

I love you baby girl, I only had you for a short time but you were one of the family, we'll all miss you.

    RIP Alex

I left a note in your other thread, but again, I am so sorry.

I understand a little of what you're feeling.
Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.

      Awww!

I remember when Harrison (our first kitty) was put down. (Complications from anaemia basically resulted in loss of bladder control and a few other things) Mum did her best to explain it to us as well...here's what happened to the guinea pigs we had:

First death: mum accidentally crushed it when she was trying to feed them.
Second death: we're not 100% sure what actually caused this, all we know is that it was a garbage guts. Yeah, first time I actually saw a dead animal....
Other two: were sold back to the pet shop.

I think mum's explanation went along the lines of "he was suffering to the point where to let him live would cause a lot of pain for him. At least how he is free of pain."

That might be a basic explanation. Maybe hold a small funeral for her as well, get the whole family involved.

I'm deeply sorry about your loss. I had to have my dog bear put to sleep. I know how heartbreaking it is.

We humans are wierd. It's like we feel like the world's parent by having to take care of all the small animals in the world, expecially the babies (yes, I'm overly guilty of that, too).

She's not suffering anymore and you did the right thing.

It appears that Alexs' sister Axel is showing parvo symptoms, we're taking her to the vet tomorrow to be tested.

I really don't want to go through this again
