This was my third time seeing Eddie Money and I still think he is best in small venues. The first time I saw him was at the Hampton Beach casino and ballroom (funny how there is no casino or ballroom there). Seats 300-400 and he was great. We saw him in larger venues (~1000 last night, and couple thousand earlier) and he just wasn't as good (he was still good, just not as good). Sadly, he's really starting to show his age. His daughter came out and sang a few songs, too. She was pretty good.
.38 Special rocked the house, though. They're still on their game. The show flowed well, a great combination of their hits as well as their newer stuff (including a couple of country songs). If you're a fan of southern rock (Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top etc..) I highly recommend .38 Special if they're in your area.
In an unrelated story, my wife's cousin (well, lose family friend) was performing last night at the Elbo Room (fairly well known Ft Lauderdale bar) and an audience member came up to sing a few songs with him. Who was it?
David Jones (from the Monkees). I haven't talked to him much about it yet but his brother said he had a great time.
