So, last week they released details on the shooting at my place. The person shot was well enough to appear in court (in a wheelchair), despite being given about a 1% chance of survival by the doctors originally.
He allegedly broke into a barbershop, was taking a hammer to the register when the police arrested him. He was released on a promise to appear in court.
Two days later he was allegedly high on cocaine, was waving some knives around and caused his roommate to call the police. He allegedly greeted them at the door. With two knives. The officer took six shots, five of which hit the guy. No, I have no clue how I managed to miss hearing these.
Apparently SIU is still waiting on some more information from external sources, but I don't understand why details have been released if the investigation isn't done.
