stupid washing machine

So I've moved into a new place earlier this month. The place has a washer/dryer only the dryer doesn't work so well as I've come to find out and the washer part has put holes a garment.

Anyone know of a good solution to protect my clothes from the washer?

I would say this, but you have to find a way to close it.

Try getting large mesh bags (also called lingerie bags) that zip closed. I find them useful for that sort of thing.

Also report it to your landlord. He may not be aware that it is in such bad shape, and might replace/repair it.

I've already reported it to the landlord, mind you he should probably be aware since it's a Hotpoint (that brand is another rant). Unless he's a kind and generous soul he's likely to be like other landlords of student housings and be a bastard in either ignoring, bad repair, or replacing with cheap crap.
