My husband's step-mum, Pauline, was admitted to hospital almost a month ago with liver issues, she has non-alcoholic cirrhosis, diabetes and a whole host of other problems. The doctors didn't expect her to survive, so I didn't post about her illness then, but since she's been gradually getting better, we're hopeful that she'll be around for a bit longer. She's well enough to be in a normal ward instead of ICU, but the doctors have said that she's probably only got until Christmas. Her daughter is seriously distraught, as they are more like sisters or best friends rather than mother and daughter. So, any prayers/good wishes/hopes/vibes would be greatly appreciated.

Good thoughts and sympathy; a friend of mine is an alcoholic and he was recently hospitalized for pancreatitis, due to long term alcoholism.
It hurt like a mofo, as he said.
