    My roomie and I made a cake for my sister's 22nd birthday. Beyond actual baking time it took four hours and I'm in a large amount of pain as a result but...it turned out pretty good, I think. I did the 'book', the leaves and vines and roomie made the candle and the Tink:

      Ohhhhh! I would love to find someone to do that for D's birthday (it's in Jan). She's the worlds biggest Tink fan.

      You wouldn't mind taking a trip to Denver, would you? Just kidding....

          That's an awesome cake! Is it store fondant, or did you make it yourself? Because if you did it by hand, by god I feel sorry for you. That drove me crazy.
          My only regret is that I don't have a better word for "F@#k You".

                Beautiful work!

                That's gorgeous.
                You deserve to be proud of it.

                  Rad! I love it. What flavor is the cake itself?

                    Adorable =)

                    I love cakes like that, it shows that you care about the person getting it =)

                          Thanks guys

                          Yes, I made the fondant myself. I don't like the store bought stuff even though making fondant kills my hands.

                          The actual cake was a standard white cake with chocolate filling and french vanilla fondant. The candle is ding-dongs covered in fondant and gel icing to make it look melty. My room-mate sculpted the Tink out of Fimo clay and fired and painted it so my sister got to take it home.

                            Aw, that's cute! My cousin's wife made their wedding cake topper out of that (or something similar) - it was the two of them in a kayak. (One of the things they requested along with the registry info was gift cards to Eastern Mountain Sports, where he works part time - mostly for the employee discount, I think - so they could buy a kayak.)
