bevmo offers pickup and shipping of liquor/beer. I've done pick up, they require ID and the physical credit/bank card.

Delivery is done by FedEx. How, exactly, do they determine if I'm of legal age to buy liquor that way? I would assume the box wouldnt come with a giant LIQUOR IN HERE stamp, and i could be ordering wine glasses or anything non-alcoholic so I doubt the fedex guy would check my ID. Not to mention they have a tendency to just drop it on my doorstep without knocking.

So how does that work?

FedEx has an ID requirement for booze delivery. The store has an account set up with them, so they know the delivery person *must* check ID before delivering the box. Signature of both the recipient and the delivery person is required as well.
