I would be the type to wear the hoodie, then shorts and flip flops My legs and feet don't get as cold as the top part of me does.....unless it's like 30 out or snowing then I bundle up all over.

In the house I have shoes off...one cause they're uncomfortable and I just like it better without them and two cause it tracks crap all over the floor.

however 1) I cannot stand that post between my toes... I don't wear toe rings on the 1st or 2nd toe either... that post thing HURTS

            and 2)
i do have a pair of rope-sandals that I wear like most ppl do flip-flops, and yes i'll wear a hoodie and those out the door - usually i've come home and done like Blas and a couple of others, and kicked my shoes off, then have to run an errand - i CANNOT put my old socks back on (ew ew ew eww ewiew ew!) so I'm being lazy by slipping those on...

I don't understand this trend, either. Nor do I understand why, living in Florida, in the middle of summer, I see SO many people coming into the store in freaking hoodies. Heavy ones! I feel like yelling "STOP! I'm sweating just thinking about that!"

And the meatball bun of hair on top of the head.
I tend to do this out of lazyness. Regular ponytails tend to give me headaches, and I'm not fixing it all pretty everyday.

As far as the rest of the students go...I don't care what they wear, I just wish they'd cross the street a little faster.

As I am about to explain, I don't understand the flip-flops part of this to begin with. However, I will admit that I've been known to wear shorts (probably sandals if this was back when I could still wear them) and a sweatshirt. Largely because it gives me more flexibility. If I want to be able to wear shorts and a t-shirt, the only option for "something warmer" (unless you have zip-offs, which are generally really lightweight, so not necessarily warm even when they're long) is to put a sweatshirt on, with shorts.

                      2. It's a fashion statement that has nothing to do with her comfort.
                      She's wearing flip-flops. I have to agree.

Neither do I. I don't understand them in other people partially because of this - if I wanted to wear something that casual a) I wouldn't wear it with makeup and b) I'd wear something more comfortable. I understand that I have more of a need for foot support than the average person does (excess pronation, I have prescription orthotics), those don't provide enough support for anyone. One woman at work wore flip flops. Her bike was in the shop one day so she walked (the building wasn't on any good bus routes). Apparently it resulted in a lot of soreness. It's not just the lack of support, it's that there's nothing to keep them on your toes, so most people have to clench their feet. If you're going over a km or so you're in trouble.

Quick painless hair solution: french braid. Almost as quick, but not a french braid every day solution: two braids and pin them up on top of your head like an old-fashioned German lady.

The problems with that: I don't like how my hair looks braided, I don't remember braids as "painless" when done by Mom (aka Atilla the Hun of Hair), and I really can't do it. Braiding dry would be as much work as a pony tail or barrette, and braiding wet would result in a lot of mid-day frazzle.

I can't braid my own hair. I can put it in a meatball bun. in fact, i just put it in one to spite this thread.

I have straight hair. Well... when it's not frizzy. This might be a crucial detail that I forgot.

I own a couple pairs of Havianas, which are the only flip flops I can wear, but even then I can't wear them for long before my feet hurt. No arch support.

Hence, I wear Birkenstocks instead. They support my feet great and wear like iron. I've had my sandals for four years now and my clogs for about 7. You're never going to get that much wear out of any pair of flip flops. Plus, ugly as they may be, they go great with my general random t-shirt/hoodie and jeans wardrboe.

And my clogs are the most versatile shoes I own. I can wear them with thick socks in winter or without socks on days like today.

I have a pair of Bongo flip flops but the kind with a wide band of black fabric. I can't wear the thong flip flops. They hurt my toes. My Bongos are really old though and starting to pull away from the sole.
