  • VIRTUE!

    ...is its own punishment.

So, I went to help a friend pull his vehicle up the hill to the area where we live. Loaded up his towbar and headed out to where it was sitting.

Chatting while driving down, I then discovered he planned to chain the towbar around the bumper instead of properly installing it (removing the bumper and bolting the towbar to the frame mounts, maybe 1/2 hour work). Uh, not recommended.

I told him I wouldn't pull it like that, and he told me to turn around and take him back.

And now he's mad at me.

Sorry dude, if it were a small car I might consider it, but not with a 1/2 ton pickup. I wouldn't want to pull off the bumper going up the hill, or worse yet, have it slip during a panic stop and try to climb up my truck.

    Your friend was sucky.

You had the best interests of your car and his car in mind and it upset him... Uh, yeah.

I need more friends like you. Either do it correctly, or not at all.
