So, I went to help a friend pull his vehicle up the hill to the area where we live. Loaded up his towbar and headed out to where it was sitting.
Chatting while driving down, I then discovered he planned to chain the towbar around the bumper instead of properly installing it (removing the bumper and bolting the towbar to the frame mounts, maybe 1/2 hour work). Uh, not recommended.
I told him I wouldn't pull it like that, and he told me to turn around and take him back.
And now he's mad at me.
Sorry dude, if it were a small car I might consider it, but not with a 1/2 ton pickup. I wouldn't want to pull off the bumper going up the hill, or worse yet, have it slip during a panic stop and try to climb up my truck.
