  • A thousand origami cranes

So as a summer project, while I don't have uni and I need something to do when work becomes nuts, I figured I'd start making a Senbazuru.

It's 1000 paper cranes, arranged into 25 strings of 40 cranes each. When a 1000 are made, it is believed to be lucky.

    This explains it better.

When I'm done, I might post it up on CS.com so I can show you my efforts. I'm a bit over halfway on my first string.

Reminds me of that movie about Martha Stewart. Apparently she did this in prison, or in the movie she did.

I've always heard that if you complete such a task, a wish will be granted to you.

If I finish it in time, it'll be a gift for my coworker who's having a baby (bubs is due in April), otherwise I'll hang it in my room.

              Yep. That's the idea.

They're often hung around near the memorial in Hiroshima.
