I got my earlobes pierced when I was 15 and wore earrings pretty regular for several years, but now when I put them in, my right ear in particular will get all swollen and nasty, and I have a hard time getting the posts in. I also had to give up on the cartilage piercings I had done last summer because the buggers just wouldn't heal
Someone told me to use 14k gold only and they'd be less irritated, but I don't like gold. Would surgical steel work? And where is the best place to get them? I don't really like the hypo allergenic ones at Volde-Mart. Oh, and also, should I let this earlobe heal up as it is, or should I put a stud in it to keep the hole from closing? It's crazy, I've been pierced for over 10 years and this is the first time I'm having real problems with metal.
